With the arrival of Christmas, and the Royal Albert Dock gets a whole new avatar as its red columns are embellished with fairy lights. When you're around it, you will find more than a million twinkling lights that illuminate 86 of its columns. Taking a tour around it is an experience of a lifetime. While you do that, you can also discover characters like Neptune, Triton as well as liver birds like Bertie and Bella hovering around it. If you are a movie lover, don't forget to snuggle up with your loved ones at the Christmas Pop-up Cinema and watch your favourite festival movies with them.


2. Get Mesmerized at Liverpool Light Show

WFor those who haven't heard about Liverpool Light, you might want to check out some pictures on the internet. Liverpool Light is a 50 meter LED tunnel of light and sound show which leaves the spectators (irrespective of their age) spellbound each time they watch it. It plays some of the most popular Christmas Carols and songs that are synced to the movement of lights. Take as many selfies as you can while you are around the Neon Selfies Station located on Clayton Square and Castle Street. You can also take a walk-through Christmas Tree on Williamson Square and post your selfies on Instagram with the #Christmasinliverpool.


3. Chill (literally) at the Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival at the Pier Head

The Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival is usually celebrated from 13th November to 5th of January and features some amazing ice slides and ice rinks for the ice skating enthusiasts. You can also enjoy some festive food and beverages from around the place and do some shopping from the stalls. The place looks like white heaven when it is snowing. So, do visit it at least once during Christmas time.


4. Have fun at Christmas Markets

This year, the Christmas Market will be open from November 15 from 4 pm to 10 pm and will turn into a paradise for foodies. Festoon lights in the Christmas market create a Christmas-friendly ambience and kids can enjoy the fairground rides while you sip away your favourite free drinks. Some strong and exotic free festive drinks are also served at the Gin Tin, Tepee as well as the Ski Lodge which have karaoke cable cars. So, get drunk and be merry!


5. Go for Polar Adventure at Liverpool ONE

And now it's time to get aboard the Christmas Express! This amazing land train experience entails going around the journey of Chavasse Park, getting down at the North Pole to enjoy a few activities, listening to a few stories and enjoying a mug full of hot chocolate. The train also stops by the festive market stalls so that you can shop gifts for your loved ones and have some lip-smacking food.


6. Enjoy Storytime with Santa

For adults, it is sheer nostalgia and for kids, it is nothing less than an incredible experience in itself. Father Christmas and his friend, buddy the elf narrate stories and sing songs near the cosy log fire lit near the surroundings of Liverpool Town Hall. Every story narration is sure to leave you and your little ones awestruck. Children are also encouraged to share their favourite Christmas story and wish after which they receive a special gift.


7. Enjoy the Alpine Ambience Underneath the Liverpool One Tree
